Christen’s Senior Photo Shoot

The summer doldrums hit us hard this year.  Business slows down a bit, the heat kills any outdoor activities during the day and many families choose to leave the Houston heat for cooler climes on vacation.  That doesn’t mean we’re not working hard at STP Images.  We have been planning our fall photography campaigns and we are also getting ready for senior portrait season – can you believe back to school is upon us?!

Our first senior of the new season is Christen.  Even though we do a lot of work with high school seniors, Christen is a senior at PVA&M and came to us after seeing our ads in Modern Luxury and our Seniorology website.  She wanted a senior shoot that was unique and conveyed her personality.  We met in the studio and talked about what she liked and how she wanted her personality to be portrayed.  We planned a great session with multiple outfits and locations.  We started in the studio and captured some great images on several different backgrounds with several different outfits – these were for Mom mostly, but Christen loved them, too.

Then it was off to the great landmark locations near the studio.  We went to the Black Lab on Montrose and then on to Hermann Park.  We used mostly natural light, but we also used some portable studio lighting to get some variety in the set of images.  The shoot took about an hour and a half.  Christen’s mother was with us and enjoyed being involved with the shoot.  We loved the images and so did Christen and her family.  She used her favorite images for her graduation announcement cards, which we created from scratch.  We printed them on eco-friendly bamboo and they were stunning.  Take a look below at a few of our favorites from our session.
